rs10883365 has been reported in a large study to be associated with Crohn's disease. The risk allele (oriented to the dbSNP entry) is (G); the odds ratio associated with heterozygotes is 1.2 (CI 1.03-1.39), and for homozygotes, 1.62 (CI 1.37-1.92). The association between rs10883365 and Crohn's disease was replicated in a Japanese population. Genetic determinants of ulcerative colitis include the ECM1 locus and five loci implicated in Crohn's disease. Worldwide population differentiation at disease-associated SNPs. Gene variants influencing measures of inflammation or predisposing to autoimmune and inflammatory diseases are not associated with the risk of type 2 diabetes. Unbiased estimation of odds ratios: combining genomewide association scans with replication studies. Lack of association of NKX2-3, IRGM, and ATG16L1 inflammatory bowel disease susceptibility variants with celiac disease. NKX2-3 and IRGM variants are associated with disease susceptibility to IBD in Eastern European patients.
