Notes
this is not a real snp. There is actually a real rs666, which looks to be a very nice and completely boring snp. If you are seeing this in a report, relax. This is only a test. rs666 is a fictional snp is used to represent the worst thing you can imagine. A single copy of the (A) allele will have this terrible effect. If you are rs666(A;A) we can be almost certain that this terrible thing will affect both of your parents and all of your children. If you reveal your rs666(A;A) status, you would be revealing their rs666(A) status also. If you can think of other ways to help people understand this negative aspect of genetics, please add to this page. see also rs1234
