Notes
rs11868035 is one of several SNPs associated with the SREBF1 gene that show a modest association with type-2 diabetes. A study of ~2,000 Caucasian patients (and 10,000+ controls) led to an odds ratio of 1.19 (CI: 1.07-1.33, p=0.002) for the minor (risk) allele, rs11868035(A), in the orientation as in dbSNP. type-2 diabetes rs2297508(C) and rs11868035(C) This SNP rs11868035 and rs1057217 are associated with increased risk of schizophrenia in German and Scandinavian samples. This SNP and rs6812193 are reported to affect risk of Parkinson's disease. plos Polymorphisms in the gene encoding sterol regulatory element-binding factor-1c are associated with type 2 diabetes.
