Notes
rs17036314 is a SNP in the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma PPARG gene. In a 4 year study of 479 overweight individuals with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) who participated in the Finnish Diabetes Prevention Study (DPS), carrying a rs17036314(C) allele predicted conversion to type-2 diabetes (T2D) after adjustment for baseline fasting glucose (p=0.030). Increased physical activity reduced this risk.
