Notes
A very small study of 117 healthy European peri- and postmenarcheal girls (14.9 +/- 1.6 years) were followed for 4 years along with their calcium intake. Girls with rs4516035(C;T) and (C;C) genotypes had 13% lower spine mineral content if their milk intakes were below 260 mL/day, compared to either genotype-matched girls with higher milk intakes or to girls with the (T;T) genotype. If this is real, it suggests that rs4516035(C;T) and (C;C) female teens need more milk than rs4516035(T;T) girls to have optimal bone density. rs4516035 and the more aggressive tumour location in head-neck and trunk (OR=1.54, p=0.020)
